How to Prevent Nasal Polyps ? What are the causes of nasal Polyps ?

Hình ảnh
Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) is a common airway disease characterized by the presence of recurrent and spontaneous chronic inflammation in the nasal mucosa.CRS can be differentiated into 2 major forms: chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) and chronic rhinosinusitis without nasal polyps (CRSsNP).   Although CRS is not a life-threatening disorder, the persistent inflammation can lead to perennial nasal congestion/ obstruction, anosmia or hyposmia, and facial pain/headache, as well as other problems that affect the quality of life of affected subjects. A cross-sectional survey in 7 major cities across US has reported CRS prevalence of 8%. Similarly, a more recent survey of residents in 18 major US cities has reported an overall self-reported CRS prevalence of 2.2%, indicating the serious burden associated with CRS in US. Studies investigating genetic mechanisms in diseases under-pinned by complex gene-environment risk have suggested that epigenetic or nonepigenetic m...

How to Get rid of Chronic Rhinosinusitis with Nasal Polyps ?

Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) is a heterogeneous disease characterized by local inflammation of the upper airways and paranasal sinuses of at least 12 weeks’ duration. CRS is one of the most common chronic diseases in the United States, affects more than 10 million Americans, and greatly impairs quality of life in affected patients. Progress is being made in advancing our un-derstanding of the complex pathogenic mechanisms.  CRS is a heterogeneous disease and is frequently divided into 2 groups based on the presence or absence of nasal polyps (NPs): chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) and chronic rhinosi-nusitis without nasal polyps (CRSsNP). Because the nose is the first line of defense of the airways, the concept of unified airway disease, suggesting that upper airway diseases are closely related to lower airway disease, has been widely discussed. Study report the presence of an increased coagulant state in the nasal cavities of patients with Nasal Polyps, as indicat...

How to Cure Nasal Polyps without Surgery ?

Hình ảnh
Chronic Rhinosinusitis with Nasal Polyps (CRSwNP) is characterized by persistent (12 weeks or more) symptomatic inflammation of the nasal mucosa and paranasal sinuses, with development of nasal polyps. The worldwide preva-lence Nasal Polyps  has been estimated to range from 2 to 5%. In some patients, Nasal Polyps is associated with a major decline in quality of life, comparable to that resulting from rheumatoid arthritis and diabetes mellitus. A multifactorial etiology has been established for Nasal Polyps possibly involving a dysfunctional host response to environmental factors as well as genetic and epigenetic con-tributions to increased individual susceptibility. Adequate clinical and/or surgical management of Nasal Polyps is known to improve quality of life significantly. However, for unknown reasons, in some patients Nasal Polyps  is refractory to treat¬ment, leading to persistence of symptoms and recurrence that is difficult to manage. Until the present mome...

What is Nose Polyps ? How to cure it ?

Hình ảnh
Nose Polyps ( Nasal polyps) , a chronic inflammatory disease of the nose and sinuses, are characterized by the presence of nasal obstruction, watery rhinorrhea (anterior), postnasal drainage (posterior), decreased sense of smell, and/or facial pain/headache. Approximately 5% of the general population in US is estimated to be affected by nasal polyps,4 with patients experiencing reduced healthrelated quality of life , in areas including their general health, physical functioning, emotional well-being, social life, and sleep. Severe, recurrent, bilateral nasal polyps are associated with a broad range of symptoms that can have a significantly detrimental impact on patients’ lives. Nasal congestion was the most consis¬tent symptom reported across all interviews and sources measured in recent study. The main driver for patients opting to have polypectomy was the feeling that participants could no longer bear intolerable symptoms as they wanted to feel normal and breathe again. Patient...
