How to Get rid of Chronic Rhinosinusitis with Nasal Polyps ?

Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) is a heterogeneous disease characterized by local inflammation of the upper airways and paranasal sinuses of at least 12 weeks’ duration. CRS is one of the most common chronic diseases in the United States, affects more than 10 million Americans, and greatly impairs quality of life in affected patients. Progress is being made in advancing our un-derstanding of the complex pathogenic mechanisms.

CRS is a heterogeneous disease and is frequently divided into 2 groups based on the presence or absence of nasal polyps (NPs): chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) and chronic rhinosi-nusitis without nasal polyps (CRSsNP).

Because the nose is the first line of defense of the airways, the concept of unified airway disease, suggesting that upper airway diseases are closely related to lower airway disease, has been widely discussed. Study report the presence of an increased coagulant state in the nasal cavities of patients with Nasal Polyps, as indicated by increases in TATc levels in both nasal lavage fluid and Nasal Polyps tissue.

The study also demonstrate increased levels of TAFI in nasal lavage fluid from patients with  Nasal Polyps, a change that would diminish fibrinolysis, further enhancing fibrin deposition. These findings add further support to previous studies suggesting that Nasal Polyps formation is related to profound deposition of fibrin in sinonasal tissues
